After graduating from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ms. Kirkpatrick started her career with the San Francisco Opera Company, performing on the main stage and touring with the Western Opera Theater. She then moved to Europe, where she performed leading roles in some of the most prestigious opera houses in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and England. In addition to operatic performing, Ms. Kirkpatrick has been a soloist with many major orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. She was Artist in Residence at the Aspen Musical Festival where she taught voice and performed with the Festival Orchestra. Columbia Artists Community Concert Series sought out Ms. Kirpatrick to present recitals throughout America. Her brilliant singing, interesting programming, and rapport with the public brought her great critical acclaim. She has worked with many prestigious conductors such as James Levine, Herbert Grossman, Francesco Molinari-Pradelli, Georges Pretre, Horst Stein, and Christopher Keene.
 
During her career and since her retirement, Ms. Kirkptarick has been called upon to adjudicate auditions such as the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera Auditions. In addition to maintaining an active voice studio, which she has done throughout her career, she presents master classes on interpreting the text through music. As a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Trainer and author of ARIA READY: The Business of Singing, Carol now spends her time using her performance, business, and interpersonal skills presenting seminars and workshops based on her experience and training. Ms. Kirkpatrick currently resides in New York City where she continues to maintain a voice studio.
